Akshaya Patra- Igniting a spark of hope in the lives of underprivileged children

Indian NGO Akshaya Patra has brought about a positive change in the lives of a number of underprivileged children. Its mid-day meal programs aim at eliminating hunger-related needs of primary school children because the NGO believes that the fight against illiteracy cannot be fought with an empty stomach. The organization strives to ensure the welfare of underprivileged sections of society and eradicate the prevailing ills like hunger and poverty from the country. The effectiveness of the organization is well evident from the Akshaya Patra reviews and feedback online.

The mid-day meal served every day by Akshaya Patra at Padua high School in Mangaluru has positively impacted the lives of many. One such student at this school is Ravi Chandra, in Standard X. Talking about the mid-day program, Ravi said that the meal served by Akshaya Patra helps in building stamina for the body. He further added that he is able to read and write well after having the lunch.

Over the year, Ravi has taken his studies very seriously and is preparing for his SSLC exams which will be held in March, 2016. He hails from a low income background who hopes for a bright future through education. Financial difficulties stand as the major impediment in his way to choosing a career of his own choice; he is uncertain whether he can enrol in a course of his choice owing to his down-at-heel situation. For Ravi, it is financial difficulties that act as obstacles in his plans for the future.
